How can I save water?

You can save water by:
  • turning the tap off when brushing your teeth
  • taking a shower instead of a bath
  • installing a water saving cistern device in your toilet
  • using the washing machine and the dishwasher only when they are full
  • repairing dripping taps
  • fitting a water butt in the garden to collect rain water
  • watering your garden with a watering can
  • washing your car with a bucket of water.

You can find more useful tips on how to save water on the Consumer Council for Water's (CCWater) and Waterwise websites.
