Ofwat announces changes to the periodic review timetable |
Ofwat today announced revisions to the timetable for its price review.
The changes follow consultation with the water companies over the impact of the delay in receiving the principal guidance on the required water quality programme.
Some companies with major environmental and drinking water quality programmes to cost have said they will find it difficult to submit their final business plans by the original date of 7 April.
Ofwat has agreed revised submission dates with the companies that will enable the water regulator to receive all final business plans by the end of April. Companies will publish summaries of their proposals in early May.
The effect of the changes will be to put back publication of the draft and final price limits by one week to the 5 August 2004 and 2 December 2004 respectively.
The revised timetable is as follows:
| Submission of final business plan | 7-30 April |
| Ofwat publishes draft price limits for consultation | 5 August |
| Company responses to draft price limits | 15 September |
| Public consultation closes | 13 October |
| Ofwat publishes final price limits | 2 December |
