This section of the return consists of two tables for a water and sewerage company (35a and 36a) and one table for a water only company (35a).
The tables facilitate capital and operating expenditure comparisons between company report year actual figures and those contained in the 2004 final determination.
Company report year figures are copied directly from table 35/table 36 and the 2004 final determination figures are downloaded from the dataset held on Ofwat's database.
Comparisons between company actuals and final determination assumptions are made in report year prices. Column 1 contains the 2004 final determination figures for the report year in 2002-03 prices. Column 2 contains these figures adjusted to report year prices as follows:
capital expenditure and grants and capital contributions is adjusted to report year prices using an estimate of the Construction Output Price Index as used by companies at the time of the submission of the June return; and
operating expenditure is adjusted to report year prices using the Retail Price Index (RPI).
