RD 16/03 16 April 2003
Dear Regulatory Director
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS FOR AQUARIUS 3 FINANCIAL MODEL AND THE DRAFT BUSINESS PLAN 2003 INFORMATION CAPTURE SYSTEM
In response to questions raised at the recent Aquarius 3 training sessions and to telephone queries regarding the draft business plan information capture system (ICS) this letter details the required minimum hardware and software configuration to successfully run both software systems.
As detailed in RD2/00, and a subsequent letter issued to recipients of the June return ICS on 5 August 2002, Ofwat continues to use Microsoft Office 97 as its principal software platform, and will do so throughout the timetable of the 2004 periodic review.
There are, however, individual requirements for both Aquarius 3 and the draft business plan ICS, these are detailed below.
Aquarius 3 financial model
The financial modelling system has the following minimum requirements for use:
- Microsoft Windows NT4.0 (sp6), Windows 2000 or Windows XP;
- 500mb free hard disk space;
- 128mb memory (preferably 256mb);
- Intel Pentium II 500mHz processor, or equivalent (preferably Pentium III 1gHz or equivalent);
- User logon with Administrative rights; and
- Microsoft Office 97.
The draft business plan 2003 ICS
- Microsoft Windows NT4.0 (sp6), Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 98;
- 30mb free hard disk space;
- 128mb memory (preferably 256mb);
- Intel Pentium III 1gHz or equivalent (preferably Pentium 4); and
- Microsoft Office 97.
I am copying this letter to reporters and auditors.
If you have any comments or queries arising from this letter please telephone Carl Poulton on 0121 625 1349.
Yours sincerely
Carl Poulton
