What changes to the Order were made on 31 March 2006?
We have made a number of changes to introduce the new powers. The main one is that from 31 March 2006 re-sellers are required to provide information to residents on how much their water bills are and how they have been calculated. If a resident asks for it in writing, re-sellers must provide all of the information they have used to calculate the resident's bills. For good practice, a copy of the bill paid by the reseller to the water company should be provided. This will enable residents to have access to information which they need to determine whether they have been charged correctly.
