    WATER SUPPLY LICENSING (WSL) GUIDANCE ON THE LICENCE APPLICATION PROCESS

    I enclose our guidance on the licence application process and the summary of responses to the consultation. This follows our consultation on 29 October 2004 (WSL 04/04) and input from the WSL Technical Advisory Group and potential licensees.

    The guidance sets out the licence application process and provides details of the information that we will require from potential licensees when considering an application to become a water supply licensee.

    Applications may be submitted from 1 August 2005. The first licences will take effect from 1 December 2005. All of the information necessary to complete an application, including a standard application form, is available on the Ofwat website.
