WATER SUPPLY LICENSING (WSL) GUIDANCE ON THE LICENCE APPLICATION PROCESS

This letter clarifies that the Licence Application Guidance issued by Ofwat is statutory guidance.

We issued our Licence Application Guidance on 8 July 2005. Following on from this Regulations 1, 2 and 3 of the Water Supply Licence (Application) Regulations 2005(1) (the Application Regulation), came into force on 11 July 2005. Regulations 4, 5 and 6 of the Application Regulation came into effect on the 1st August 2005.

This letter advises that the Licence Application Guidance issued by Ofwat on 8 July 2005 is in accordance with paragraph 3 (4) of the Application Regulation.
